Addressing a rally in Jhargram, a tribal-dominated district, Banerjee said the Center must pay the state's dues or relinquish power immediately.
Hitting out at the BJP-led central government, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that if the central government does not pay the dues of the state governments immediately, it may stop payment of GST to the state.
Addressing a rally in Jhargram, a tribal-dominated district, Mamata Banerjee said the Center must pay the state's dues or relinquish power immediately.
Banerjee accused the central government of not releasing funds under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act 2005 and asked tribal people to take to the streets and protest against it.
After that, he said, Shall we plead with the central government to pay the outstanding amount? Mamata Banerjee said that if the GST balance cannot be paid, the BJP government should resign.
